Become a Foster Parent

One of AWLFC’s most important activities is providing foster care for cats who are awaiting adoption.

Foster care parents provide a safe and secure environment for cats in transition from homelessness and from Animal Control.

Fosters are asked to provide shelter and transportation for medical care and meet & greets/adoptions. Medical fees are covered by AWLFC. There are opportunities to foster all ranges of cats and kittens, from adults to bottle babies in need of special care. And you can foster once to help with a special case or on an ongoing basis.

Whatever your experience level, AWLFC will help
you learn more about this critical volunteer activity.

We always need foster parents for cats and kittens. Foster parents provide:

  • A loving home
  • Socialization
  • Transportation for routine or emergency veterinary care

Foster parents must bring their cats/kittens, once fully vetted, to AWLFC adoption events and participate in the adoption process.

AWLFC pays for all veterinary care and food. Litter may be available, depending on donations. Home visits are required.
